Bienvenidos a Miami
I will get back to my blogging by starting where I left off.....which is my weekend in Miami. First off, let me just say that Miami is beautiful and so much fun!! I do love San Diego but I must say that Miami is a happier place to be. The water is so clear and blue, unlike our beaches here in San Diego. The people in Miami are all drop-dead gorgeous!!.....both men and women. In San Diego, it's all about being and dressing classy. In Miami, it is a requirement to be sexy. I was amazed on how Miami gals walk around in nothing but bikinis and wedges, all over town, even to go to a restaurant! There is not much fashion in Miami, except swim wear and wedges. Me and the girls did get to do some shopping and I purchased some harum pants, which I've gotten many compliments on because no one else has them in San Diego. One of our disappointments of our time in Miami, was not making it on-time to go shopping at the Miami Dash store. Our plan was to go shopping down Collins Avenue until we got to Dash but we ended up partying at the Armani Exchange store. The store had both Mat Zo and Tritonal headlining there. I have never seen anything like it, people dancing and partying inside a clothing store.....only in Miami.
In Miami, we didn't get to experience much of the food. We did enjoy our brunches at our favorite hangout spot, The Tiki Bar. The Tiki Bar is located right behind The Oceanfront Hotel, which was the hotel that we stayed at. It has an amazing view of the ocean with delicious cocktails and food. My only meals were either Ceviche or Shrimp Cocktails with either a Bloody Mary or Mimosa. The most popular food in Miami is Cuban Food, so we made it a point to try it at Eva's Bistro. And hands down, Cuban Sandwiches are delicious!! Cuban sandwiches are made with ham, roasted pork, Swiss Cheese, pickles, mustard, and salami on Cuban bread.
One thing that I did find amusing, was that I could not understand the Spanish that was spoken in Miami. First of all, it is very fast and with a different accent. The funny part is that it sounds like people are fighting when they're just having a normal conversation. My sisters would make fun of me for not being able to communicate with people in Spanish.
Last but not least, the music and party scene in Miami is insane!! I decided that I wanted to celebrate my birthday in Miami because it's the same weekend as the Ultra Music Festival. This is the weekend that all the best DJs in the world go to Miami for one of the biggest dance festivals. On our first night in Miami, we went to Club Amnesia to go watch Kaskade, one of my favorite DJs. I am not impressed with Club Amnesia and I will never go back. First of all, we paid $135 to get into the club. The club itself was okay but they had too many dumb rules in there. I will not go into much detail but I ended up getting kicked out of the club. I did end up losing my sisters and friend Angel but I did make some new friends from New York. They were nice enough to help me find a taxi and made sure that I got safely back to my hotel. And yes, I still keep in touch with my New York buddies.
We had a much better experience on our second night, we went to The Fontainebleau to go watch Deadmau5, another one of my favorite DJs. This hotel is so glamorous and elegant. We saw some of the most beautiful people in the world, just by hanging out and drinking at the bar there. We even spotted Mario Lopez hanging out. We made so many friends from different parts of the world. The pool party itself was out-of-this-world!! This turned out to be, one of the best nights of my life. And we met two of the most amazing guys ever....Chris and Matias. These two guys made the rest of our Miami trip so much fun. They drove us around in their car and the next two nights, they took us to the happening bars, a hookah lounge, and even helped us find cupcakes in town. Until this day, we've stayed in contact with Chris and Matias and we look forward to seeing them again in Miami. Chris has already visited us once in San Diego and now it's our turn to go back and visit.
Overall, me and the girls had one of the best weekends of our lives. I loved Miami so much that I want to go back for my birthday again. Some of the things that I've learned about Miami from this trip is that you must dress sexy, Cuban food and coconut water is a must try, the Fontainebleau is the happening spot, and never go back to Club Amnesia....
I hope you all enjoyed my blog, I will try to be more consistent with my blogging. You can also follow my every day life on Instagram by my username "Missyadhi" :0
